Welcome To AVPTI RAJKOT
Amrutlal Virpal Parekh Technical Institute was founded in 1948 with the support of a generous donor, Sheth Amrutlal Virpal Parekh. He donated INR 1,05,0001 in the currency of that time, which enabled the establishment of the Wireless Telegraphy course—the first of its kind in the country. To fulfill Sheth A.V. Parekh’s vision, Shree R.K. Yagnik, the Principal of D.H. Arts & Science College in 1948, played a crucial role in making this initiative a success.
Over the years, the institute expanded its offerings, introducing courses such as Advanced Radio Communications, Television, and Wireless Communications at the certificate level. These programs set a benchmark for producing high-quality graduates, who secured positions in top companies and institutions worldwide. Keeping up with evolving industry demands, the institute now offers diploma-level courses in various engineering and design fields, including Bio-Medical, Computer, Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Electronics & Communications, and Computer-Aided Costume Design.
The institute boasts a well-developed infrastructure, with over 100 teaching and administrative staff, five buildings, three hostels, staff quarters, and two additional buildings under construction. A central library provides a vast collection of books, magazines, and articles to support students’ academic growth. More than just an educational institution, AVPTI fosters a culture of innovation and self-motivation, creating a dynamic and ever-growing family of technocrats.

From Principal's Desk
Welcome to A.V. Parekh Technical Institute, Rajkot.
It is a matter of immense pride that our institute is committed to delivering quality technical education through a robust Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework. We continuously strive to maintain high academic standards in alignment with the guidelines of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
I am pleased to share that the following diploma engineering programs of our institute are accredited by NBA:
- Computer Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- CACDDM
NBA accreditation reflects our strong academic processes, systematic assessment methods, qualified faculty, modern laboratories, industry linkage, and continuous improvement practices.
Our programs focus on clearly defined Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Course Outcomes (COs) to ensure that students develop:
- Strong technical competence
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional ethics and teamwork abilities
- Communication and lifelong learning skills
- Awareness of societal, environmental, and sustainability issues
The programs in Information & Communication Technology and Renewable Energy Engineering have not yet completed five years of establishment and therefore are not eligible for NBA accreditation at present. However, we are actively strengthening these departments with proper academic planning, infrastructure development, and outcome-based practices to ensure they meet accreditation requirements in due course.
At A.V. Parekh Technical Institute, we believe accreditation is not merely a recognition but a responsibility — a commitment to quality assurance, transparency, and continuous enhancement of the teaching-learning process.
With dedicated faculty members, student-centric policies, industry collaboration, and a culture of innovation, we aim to produce competent diploma engineers capable of meeting global technological challenges and contributing meaningfully to nation-building.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our faculty, students, alumni, parents, and industry partners for their continued trust and support in our journey toward excellence.
Let us continue striving for higher benchmarks in quality technical education.
With best wishes,
G. V. Parmar
